About
“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
- Coco Chanel
For as long as I can remember, I have always been enamoured and besotted by the sequins and luxury of fashion. It constantly intrigues me that two people, perhaps even sisters, can look at the same piece but have diverse emotions and responses toward it.
My infectious relationship with style and fashion is due to the individual and self-efficating qualities they both possess. Clothes and accessories can conjure up armour that prepares the wearer for social / professional battle, or an alluring, emphatic silhouette that empowers an individual and ameliorates one’s self-confidence.
This blog began as a college assignment. Our task was to establish a blog, with the choice of topic to be decided upon by the student. One had to faux-post a number of articles in order to fully comprehend the online publishing process. Prior to this, the notion of blogging or adding this credential to my CV was never once considered.
Thankfully, I am the type of person who will give most things a turn once. I have never looked back on the decision to begin this blog. Each post features something which has genuinely inspired me, or a topic I have yearned to learn more about. The articles which you see on this site have each been embedded with much thought, research and time. Nothing is printed for the sole purpose of merely publishing words.
Film, Fashion & Pop Culture has provided me with a fountain of knowledge. Alike education, fashion transports you down a path of life-long learning. One is constantly in awe of the history of fashion, a model’s stance on the runaway and the ability to make an individual feel beautiful and confident in their own skin.
